Iridium Approves World’s First Fully Integrated 9555 Docking Unit

World Reach Limited subsidiary Beam Communications Pty Ltd today received formal approval for the release of its 9555 SatDOCK Docking Station designed specifically to support the latest Iridium 9555 handheld satellite telephone.

 

The Beam docking station, completely designed and manufactured in Australia, is the very first of its kind in the world to be approved by Iridium Satellite LLC. The fully integrated docking unit enables the Iridium 9555 handheld satellite telephone to extend its use into a wide range of applications including land transport, maritime and limited aeronautical applications. The SatDOCK provides full in-vehicle or in-cabin hands-free communication by simply docking the Iridium 9555 handset into the customised cradle.

 

Experience gained from the design and development of a world class docking station for the previous Iridium 9505A handset enabled Beam to design and develop a new docking unit in a very short time frame. Beam’s experience and market credibility made it possible to commence selling the SatDOCK while this approval process was underway.

 

Beam’s sales channels include the leading satellite product providers across the globe. The acceptance and sales to date of the new SatDOCK has been very promising.
