New SAILOR LRIT transceiver

The SAILOR TT-3000LRIT from Thrane & Thrane is an Inmarsat Mini C terminal that complies with the IMO requirements for long range identification and tracking (LRIT).

  • Vessels sailing under the flag of a country that signed up to the International Maritime Organisations' Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) convention must comply with new LRIT requirements by 31 December, 2008.
  • From this date, vessels must automatically transmit their identity and position, including date and time, at 6-hourly intervals.
  • Vessels must also be capable of answering requests from member states and LRIT data centres for immediate position reports every 15 minutes.
