Marine Training by GMPCS

February 24, 2011 Pompano Beach FL – On Monday February 14th GMPCS kicked off their Marine Training program in the number one port in dollars of seafood landed in the US; New Bedford, MA.  The training began with a meet and greet cocktail hour the night before getting down to business.

The Marine Training was led by GMPCS Technical Manager Tony Pancho.  First on the agenda was the handheld IsatPhone Pro from Inmarsat and the new BEAM Dockers.  The BEAM IsatDock Marine is an IP54 rated intelligent docking station that supports voice services via Bluetooth, RJ11 / POTS, hands-free speakerphone or an active privacy handset.  The first full day of training information continued with presentations regarding the Iridium Sailor SC 4000 and the Thrane & Thrane Fleet Broadband series terminals.  Installation and troubleshooting was covered on all equipment.

The second full day of training was a general review of Standard C including LRIT and SSAS followed by VMS and VHF radios.  Throughout the training the equipment discussed was available for hands on questions and demonstrations.

As a Master Distributor of Thrane & Thrane, GMPCS will continue hosting technical training courses.  The next Marine training will be at our Pompano Beach office location the week of March 7th.
