Fax on SAILOR FleetBroadband 150 Meets Small Vessel Demand

Fax is now available on FleetBroadband 150 (FB150) by simply upgrading the terminal firmware.

The additional service has been introduced to meet demand from the small vessel market, where fax is still used for day-to-day activities.

This is particularly the case in South East Asia, which has the largest fishing fleet in the world - made up mostly of small vessels operating in coastal waters.

Cost-effective FB150 delivers cost-effective, landline-quality voice with simultaneous internet and email access at 150kbps, plus SMS.

The additional fax capability offers a service fishermen want - together with always-on connectivity and the unrivalled reliability of the Inmarsat network.

The firmware upgrade can be downloaded from the FB150 terminal manufacturer's website or from Inmarsat.com.

Once installed, a G3 fax machine can be plugged straight into an RJ11 port on the terminal and faxes can be sent and received in exactly the same way as in an onshore office.
